The paper presents an algorithm and programs for an expert system designed to determine the failure of a rail circuit in railway transport. Mathematical and simulation models have been studied to determine the operating modes of a rail circuit with current collection. Algorithms and programs have been developed to create expert systems based on these models, which allows to quickly diagnose faults and provide recommendations for their elimination.
