SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO TEACHING CALCULATIONS OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN AN ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The scientific and methodological approach to teaching electrical circuit calculations involves simplification. Any electrical equipment can be represented as an electrical circuit to simplify the calculation process. In a steady-state condition, the electrical circuit is often considered as a sinusoidal current circuit. When differentiating or integrating, the sinusoidal function remains unchanged. This is particularly useful when calculating the circuit in complex form. The sinusoidal nature of voltage and current is due to the rotational motion of the generator’s rotor or the rotating magnetic field. However, there are challenges associated with pulse-based applications. An impulse action requires the calculation of a transient process. Since the shape of impulses can be mathematically complex, it would be convenient to simplify the calculations. This is exactly what is done in the article: the real impulse is replaced by an exponential impulse. In this case, differentiation and integration do not change its mathematical description.
