The report is devoted to a mathematical model for solving the problem of optimizing the calculation of TEU in container trains. Currently, there is a technology for calculating the TEU deficit, accumulative statements by cargo and baggage receivers, agents of the system of branded transport settlement according to the order of JSC «Russian Railways», however, there are gaps in the automation of payments for incomplete capacity of container trains. Due to errors in the calculations of employees, the absence of an automated subsystem for calculating capacity, cases of registration of container train with the appropriate tariff mark and the provision of a discount to the tariff for transportation in case of non-compliance with the conditions of container train capacity established by the order of organization of transportation and empty containers as part of container trains dated 02.10.2020 No. 2191/r, without accrual of compensation fee or accrual of this the fees are not in full. According to the document, for container train with a transportation distance of more than 2,300 km, it is required to issue acts of a general form in order to charge fees for incomplete loading of trains. In this article, it is proposed to create a subsystem in the automated system ETRAN, which will eliminate errors in the calculation process manually and will optimize the synchronization process of transferring the data of the calculation of the TEU to the acts.
