The problem of teaching economic disciplines is considered on the basis of consideration of two categories – business planning and financial modeling, their differences are noted. The tasks to be solved using the financial model of the project are indicated. The main characteristics of the financial model are described, as well as the main types of information required to perform calculations. The list of the main indicators used to evaluate the effectiveness of the financial model is given. Attention is drawn to the basic rule of VAT accounting when performing calculations. References to the main regulatory legal acts are provided. The research uses methods of logical analysis, expert assessments, generalizations and comparisons.
